This was a midi I improvised at the keyboard a month or so earlier and last Sunday, inspired with sadness by the Paris attacks I processed it through the Vita synth as a cello ensemble.  It is a slow, sweeping mournful sound.  I left the distortions between 2:00 to 3:00 because it does sound a little as if the music reverses and that portrays the concept of teshuva, turning back.  An earful of pathos follows at 3:00 as the music swells.  If you like Mahler you might enjoy this.

Another sensitive and throught provoking improvisation, esisnichtsoernst.  Morphs and phases beautifully and as you suggest, mournfully.  Very empathetic to the recent events.

When you write about Mahler, my mind immediately springs to a character in the film version of Educationg Rita.  A posh, Bristish flat maye of the main character keeps saying 'Don't You Just Love Mahler?', smiling all the while.  Later in the film she attempts suicide.  That sounds a bit grim, but it's a serious balancing moment in a very funny film.

Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks for the kind comment.  I can't figure out how to reply to comments?  Does anyone know how?
