Greetings Magix community,

'The Summertime Song' music-video is based on a song by Mungo Jerry in 1970. The song was a 'shuffle song' about the summertime and was very popular throughout the 70s. My version of the song is midi sourced at bitmidi.com based, with many alterations and additions that I added to the midi source. All of the sounds in this video and music track are made locally in my own studio with my own instruments and resources. I produced this song keeping everything as close to the way such a song track would be produced in the 1970s.

Instruments used:

Solina Ensemble string synth as a violin (hardware)

Moog Mother 32 euro rack synth (configured similar to a Mini Moog (hardware)

Two Gibson Les Paul electric guitars doing 'voicing' (vst based)

An old slightly detuned piano (vst based)

An early 1970s Fender Rhodes piano (vst based)

An upright acoustic bass instrument (vst based)

A FET Transistor Pre Amp (hardware)

An Echoplex tape delay (vst based)

Myself making 'bottle jug' sounds ;)

My Moog synth also helped create the 'wash board' shuffle sounds.

My many thanks to the digital artists that provided the excellent images for the video.

Thank you all for listening and enjoying the 1970s sounds and fun that are in this piece ;)

Mark ;)
