For your first midi effort, this is a really good track,

You have a good bass line, some good sounds floating in the mix and the drums are good too.

Imagining a beat, and then playing it with the synth is a hard thing to do but you have completed your first track, which proves you can use the synth.

Plus, you have your own style with your music, which is definitely listenable so keep on developing yourself and experimenting with as many synths as you can find.

Nickillus (is a great synther, check his track Bond Does Halloween, my favourite underground groove track I have heard in a long time) he, at one point, gave me a site that had free synths that I wish I could remember off the top of my head for you but unfortunately I can't.

If you don't have many available. check his profile or I can ask him for you.

Being a hip hop "head" myself, if you can bust some lyrics out in a track, it's a definite plus. I'd listen and evaluate it.
