Greetings Magix community,

Today I will share a new song with you. I am using some of my vintage like instruments and going vocal this time ;)

A bit of soul, some rock, some folk maybe .... just a musical expression that has come to me and I had lots of fun producing 'You Rock My Soul'.

I will start with my new Solina Ensemble instrument and using my vintage Ensoniq keyboard and rack with the sounds of a 60s rock organ with a Leslie speaker. Every thing guitar here is the sound of electric guitars but in two different expressions as you will see. I have never been very good a writing my own lyrics so this time I will do my best ;)

The comfort you give me

The soul light that brings itself

The warmth that comes to me

Without any flame

Amid the darkness

Amid the storms

You are there

Even when far away

As good as a warm embrace

With the songs that mean so much to me

You rock my soul

You rock my soul

...

You rock my soul ...

Mark ;)

Carnivalesque keyboards and crisp Texas blues rock guitar make a mix most wouldn't have thought of. Works well. The contrast really jumps out. Brave of you to try vocals but my understanding is Magix fixes up anything that's off key. Your lyrics are fine. I believe everything has been sung about many times. We can't help but reuse the words and phrases and sentiments. You conveyed the feeling.

Best wishes,

Philip-J

Hi Mark, it's been a while since I've been here...
This song reminds me of the underground music scene—it was one of my favorites back in the '70s. The first part has a story and a certain vibe, and starting at 1:30, it really takes off in that direction.... I really love it.

Thank you Phillip!

I think those are my own words as lyrics but I am sure there are many songs with a similar theme that have inspired me over the years. I used many resources in my home studio to help with the melody, common key, and sound quality as the making of this song was special to me. And I am delighted to say that Magix has fixed the upload problem and I was able to upload the .wav master track this time. The first part of the song was my own melody and instruments and some really good Magix 'rock' guitar loops helped me finish the song.

Best wishes,

Mark ;)

Hey thank you Stoni,

I guess you share my experience of being around long enough to remember 70s style music. Back then when I had a guitar like everyone else I knew and would just express myself with the guitar when no one was around to listen. Back then I never dreamed that I would be sharing music like I am now ;)

My best wishes!

Mark ;)
