There is a big difference between playing a video with a media player and importing that same video into a video editing program, since the video editing program reads the codec structure of the video more extensively than the media player does.
If you are able to play a video on your computer, but are unable to import it into the program, try converting the file to a compatible format using the converter below and then importing it again:
