How to use 3D titles in Movie Edit Pro

terrypin wrote on 10/8/2012, 2:08 PM

This tutorial explains how to use the 3D titles in MEP. I made it 3 years ago (in 2009) using MEP-15, but subsequent versions are similar.

In addition, this illustrates all the first section of 3D titles in MEP-15, most of which are still present in later versions.

Below is the YouTube link. If necessary use the Settings gear wheel to switch to the higher quality option, although even that is unfortunately poor resolution.

I was hoping to find out if colors in the 3D titles can be changed and, if so, how that is done.

But the best place to ask technical questions is in the Forum or Q&A sections of the site. That way others learn and others can contribute too.

The tutorial for MEP 15 is worthless for MEP 16 even though the author says "many" of the menus are the same. The particular menu for the title editor is NOT the same and does NOT work as the tutorial video demonstrates for MEP 15. There are many title options in MEP 16 that once selected, the user is directed to use the editor in the "title menu" which simply does not exist. MEP 16 is a total piece of crap!

On the contrary, MEP 16 Plus (and later versions) make it very easy to use 3D Titles.

Still unable to edit the title. I am trying to edit a moving Title called "typewriter" and the default is "AbcdeF". When I cntl+E, I get the below box which is no the same as the one above. Any ideasterrypin?

"Still"? When was your last post? I don't see it. (9 months since my last reply here.)

The reason for your problem seems to be that you are editing a standard title or possibly a file (hard to tell with the low res screenshot that magix allows). You should be editing the 3D title as described in my tutorial and in Help and the PDF manual. Ctrl+E brings up the Properties dialog in that case.

But this Tutorial section is not intended for technical help discussions. That's the purpose of the Q&A or Forum. Post there if you still have problems so that others can contribute and learn.

Best wishes,

Seems I'm 6 years late to the party, but I've got the same issue in MEP 16 Plus (9.0.6.6) as bluewigan. My version simply upon pressing Ctrl-E opens the same window as in bluewigan's screenshot above. The PDF manual mentions titles in 4 or 5 lines, nothing about actual 3D titles and changing their text. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
