  Thank you John. I did manage to solve it by locating which track the phantom audio was on (track 1) which occurred at a particular time. I added a new track below that and then moved all tracks to that. Once track 1 had nothing on it I deleted it.

  I have a problem where audit is playing where there is no track for it make it appear like a 'phamtom audio'. There is no audio tied to the track, and in fact I moved all tracks to the right to have nothing at the playback mark and yet the audio

  @John-Cianciolo Hi If you can identify the track that the 'phantom audio' is on, it will be a paler grey as indicated by the yellow arrow in the image below and there appears to be nothing on the track, delete it using the option indicated by the

  @AAM Thanks for the Windows version. Error code 5 Access violation is a Window issue, he most likely cause is a Windows Update. To check your system, close all running programs then:- Hold down the Windows Key and press XSelect - Terminal (Admin)
