    Creating camcorder effect?
I bought Movie Edit Pro Plus for a friend and she is trying to create a camcorder effect for the video she is doing but she says she can't find a suitable effect to do this. Does anyone know of a way to do it using the MAGIX effects? Thanks, Kraznet

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Hi All My view is that the drive speed discussion is a dead duck - using my example: a 400MB file encoded over 2 minutes means that it is writing to the export drive at about 3MB / sec so what drive would have a problem with that! I agree with John

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
@Scenestealer Hi Peter. I'm assuming that compression of video is similar to stills as each frame is calculated but there would be differences I assume between I,B,and P frames with only the I frames being the closest match to the original frame.

RE: Recording from mini-DV camcorder - how to change field order?
My final destination is DVD, which I make with Adobe Encore. When I'm done editing with MEP, I export the clips as MPEG (Standard DVD PAL Widescreen). This setting makes the clips ready for Encore and I don't have to transcode them in Encore. I did

RE: Recording from mini-DV camcorder - how to change field order?
Hi John, thank you for your answer. All the cassettes are standard DV, recorded with the same Sony camcorder. And the strange thing is that MEP captures some of them as bff (correctly?) and some as tff (incorrectly?). And I would like to know if

Hi John Yes, it was the NSTC vs Pal. I forgot I hade another camcorder with Pal System and I am able to edit in the Terratc Magix Software.   But I would prefer to edit them with the Magix Movie Edit Pro and when I try to import I get the message

RE: trying to update the 2019 to 2020 but get error code 57
Hi Ray, Your observations are right on track - I think most everyone using MEP and even VP-X went over to Win 10 - I say this from the reaction I got from Magix Tech Support - certainly they were not looking at Win 7 problems esp if they were minor

John, Funnily enough I found that out last night when I opened MEP just to see what ‘Intros’ I had within the program. I must have bought them at some stage. For me though, I never opened MEP until I was ready to start a project so had never thought

    RE: compatability with windows 10
@Andrew-Thompson it may also be that the drivers for the camcorder/firewire is not fully compatible with Windows10. You can try running drivers - or even MEP, in compatibility mode for just the purpose of the capture process.

Thanks for responding. To be honest, I was expecting a response along the lines of "Edit Pro 17 is too old to work with Windows 10". However, it seems that this may not be the case so here is a bit more info: software is MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17
