Shadow on Mov file (with alpha)
I have tried to make a shadow (Hitfilm shadow) on a mov clip (an animated logo with alpha). But when the shadow is applied then the alpha disappears and the background returns to black. This must be a bug, or? and is there any other way of making a

Importing png file sequence as a single clip
Is it possible to import a sequence of png files (100+) (with alpha) as a single clip? This is possible in the much older Vegas Studio without much trouble.

RE: How to achieve the "infinite zoom effect" with MEP 17?
Hi, I presume that you have Plus or Premium. To do this, you need to understand keyframing, mask creation and Chromakey alpha. I used VPX, but you can use MEP for everything but the zoom blur at the end. I created a mask of the window using Xara

RE: Unwanted Black Background in Title
Hi John CB, At first that bizarre work-around of saving (an incorrectly displayed project!), exiting and restarting seemed to work. But when I previewed all the objects, the effect was gone again. (Ive written a macro that jumps quickly to each

RE: VPX9 - No audio after using Solo
Hi John EB, Thanks for taking a look. The movie was corrupt and copy/paste to a new movie solved this particular problem. However, I had other problems, like the one that I mentioned about exporting with masks not working properly and then I had two

RE: split screen with alpha mask does not open
Hi all, I just tried MEP2016 and the latest VPX and naming the file with _alpha does not turn on the Chroma key Alpha effect anymore. I am trying to update the text of the YT video, but after clicking on Save changes, the cursor has been turning,

RE: split screen with alpha mask does not open
Hi John, Nice find! I can replicate that quirk in MEPP 2016. In fact the alpha suffix trick does not seem to work at all. My import just got the standard 'Stamp' key applied. MEP 2014 does work as expected, i.e. the mask does get alpha status, an

I think I should mention that after watching the tutorial once more, there is no indication that Chroma Key should be applied and this is what got me confused. I think you missed it, José. At the 0:55 point of John's 2:59 video 'Tutorial 04 Split

RE: split screen with alpha mask does not open
Hi José, As John EB pointed out, you have to put the chromakey alpha on the mask - Effects, Video effects, Chroma key and select alpha. Once on the object, you can reverse the arrow on the object to inverse the effect. John CB

split screen with alpha mask does not open
This for John CB Hi John, As you can see above the mask has not been applied and I don´t know why. At first I thought it was caused by the mxv extension or that maybe I had not saved the mask as alpha but after rechecking both I found this was not

RE: Overlaying clips that are transparent
Checked this again another way using MEP2018 Plus and I found that simply using a chromakey black on the overlay was better. When the musical notes show up, there is a cross-shaped white glow that can be seen in the simple version with chromakey

RE: Overlaying clips that are transparent
Hi again, Here is another trick. To get possibly a better result, copy the produce.avi down directly below where it was located (easier to see if you remove the audio track) so that you have it on tracks 3 and 5. Remove the chromakey from both

Hi, Make sure that you have updated to the latest patch. What is the patch version number that you are using? See under Help, About. In VPX (15.0.4.176), put the title on track 4 unless you want the overlay stars to pass in front of the titles, and

RE: Overlaying clips that are transparent
Hi VPX appears to no longer automatically apply Alpha when it is present, or the filename indicates it is to have Alpha applied to it. Your client needs to apply either Chromakey Black or Alpha from the Effects tab, Video effects, Chromakey dialog
