Open up the VIDEO_TS directory on the DVD and copy the VOB files over to your hard drive. Then open up MEP and import the VOB files via the Media Pool. You can skip VTS_01_0.VOB if it's there - that's the menu. Start with VTS_01_1.VOB. And as webguy

Ok, try this. Go here and get a converter that will convert vob files. Convert the file to avi or mpeg and edit the conversion file.

Copy the .vob file from the DVD into MEP, then export as a mp4

Thanks for further clarifying this. Sounds like it might be a pure readability problem of the created DVD. Can you track down the DVD image directory that was created on your hard drive during the DVD encoding? Just check in your program/path

You can't burn AVI files directly using Movie Edit Pro - it encodes to MPEG2/VOB and those VOB files are burned to DVD. I suppose you could export your project as AVI and then burn to disc using a different program/burning suite. To export, click

How do I copy part of a DVD recorded from TV?

VOB files (Video OBject) are not very stable for editing. They are MPEG-2 files but because they also can carry embedded info that you would find on a commercial Movie (new camera angles; other languages; Sub-titles etc etc.) many conversion
