RE: Recording analogue video
@cmclernon Another zero-cost thing to try is another tape, to see if that jerkiness is replicated. If so, that would point more to the VCR as being the culprit. You could also capture one of your Hi8 tapes to check for a smooth capture. That would

RE: Recording analogue video
"TBC" is a time base corrector. It tidies up all the dodgy tape signals coming for the VCR. There are two types. The first is a line TBC. This corrects the wavy images (evidenced by the wobbly edges). High-end VCRs have Line TBCs incorporated. A lot

RE: Recording analogue video
Hello again. Yes, that's certainly an improvement! 1. I'm using an old Daewoo Blue Diamond Model Q812PI with a composite scart adapter cable. 2. I captured using the MXV codec, then exported in MP4 format. This MP4 file is the one I shared with you.

RE: Recording analogue video
@cmclernon Got that. I think I'll be having nightmares tonight! 🙂 The first thing of note is the wobbly right edge. This is a classic characteristic of VHS. It's fixed by using a line TBC, either in the VCR itself, or an external TBC. Those wobbles

RE: Recording analogue video
Smoothness depends a lot on the camerawork. At the capture stage, it will depend a lot on the quality your VCR. Also, a line time-base corrector will help smooth out video if it's jerky/jumpy. I use a DVD recorder (Panasonic ES-15) as a passthrough

RE: Recording analogue video
@cmclernon Assuming you're capturing VHS-type analogue video, the normal frame rates are 25fps for PAL and 29.97 for NTSC.

@Former user Hi Gid. There is only ever one reason I very occasionally use a tiff file. All three of my DSLR cameras shoot tiff as a native format and the image files are a direct readout from the camera sensors and therefore are 16 bit colour

A pitch change (fast or slow) playback usually indicates a different sample rate from what the recorded file actually is. How did you capture the broadcast? Did you use the 'record what you hear' method? Most PCs with Realtec soundcards have a

@DonVido Well. it seems that this is a video card memory problem. My video adapter has only 512 MB VRAM which is not enough. The program spec say at least 1024 MB VRAM i needed. Vido, I know I'm using MEP 2022 but I assume the basic program engine

@HomeMovieMaker Hi, just because MEP16 is on your pc & it works fine doesn't mean MS2022 will, there's been quite a few changes to the program since then, so i would dismiss that train of thought, Can you share a photo like this showing the CPU,

RE: Video Saver ! 2022 doesn't recognize LG RC1855 DVD/VHS video player
@DonVido @CubeAce I very much doubt it has anything to do with "muscle" or video cards. If Magix can't see the stick itself, regardless of what is connected to the stick, that points to a driver issue. For example, my USB capture stick (not a Video
