Quicktime not installed
Hi, Not sure why, but as I drag the MP4 file to the timeline, it is copied to workplace and I see it loaded, then I get the panel, Quicktime is not installed and need to play file. Never saw this before. How come all of a sudden it is there. Same

RE: Brand new install, can't export movie with error
@AbbaTheHorse I use a DJI Osmo Pocket a lot for my projects with no problems. Are your files in MGEP4 H264 or Mov. format? If you have the choice, the MPEG files behave much better from DJI products in general but you can't really upscale the video.

RE: Video will not load on laptop
Xvid isn't a standard CODEC, and needs a separate CODEC installed on Windows. Additionally, that is a deprecated/legacy CODEC, and it may only be available as a 32-Bit component. I'm not sure how that interacts with 64-Bit versions of ACID

RE: MEP v MediaInfo frame rate disagreement
@johnebaker Hi John, Yes, and in a spirit of experiment I tried it a little earlier, successfully converting my 59.94 to 60. Still a chore though on a large scale. I might also try Handbrake, which I see has a 'folder' option. But I've cheerfully

@terrypin Hi Terry . . . . I don't relish converting a couple of hundred MOV movie clips for a typical project . . . . Do you still have MovAvi for batch conversion? John EB

RE: MEP v MediaInfo frame rate disagreement
Hi John, Thanks, but I don't relish converting a couple of hundred MOV movie clips for a typical project. I'll see how 59.94 works out. As I said, no other obvious negative consequences seen so far apart from the one I've described. Terry, East

MEP v MediaInfo frame rate disagreement
MediaInfo (and Apple documentation) say my iPhone 6S+ produces MOV files at 59.94 fps, but MEPP reports it as 60 fps in Properties. Just as I groan at prices like '£59.99', I'd be happier using 60 fps, but I fret about the obscure implications.

RE: Importing .Mov files
@philip-boyes Hi MOV is a container file format, and may contain one of many video/audio encoding formats, the 422 refers to the way the colour information is compressed in the video file, in this case it does not stop the video importing. For

Choosing project settings
I have several questions about project and export settings, as I'm in the process of changing mine after several years. It could quickly get over-complicated so I'll keep each topic to individual posts. My video source material is mainly MOVs at

@Scenestealer Hi Peter, That's a terrific tip, thanks a bunch! Never used 'Cast to Device' before. Over the last 30 mins or so I tried all the video file types I could find quickly. All of the following played OK:MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, MPG, M2TS, TS,

RE: Choosing project frame rate setting?
Hi Terry. A lot will depend on the TV. I'm in the UK and none of the TVs in my house are disturbed at the frame rate set but can get fussy about the type of file used. Our large lounge TV will not play mov. files or anything using HEVC. If you are

MOV from iPhone imports in 'vertical' aspect
I'm puzzled why my iPhone 6S+ records movies like this example in vertical mode. https://www.dropbox.com/s/w6xbtzet7f5wvne/20190525-010703-Cat.mov?raw=1 The iPhone app that recorded it (Motion Sensor), is presumably the root cause, because MediaInfo
