RE: Hello, I have a sony DCR-PC103E and want to transfer my videos to DVD.
@Erik-Geenen Hi . . . . I am using an i-link to usb. . . . Video cannot be transferred over iLink to USB cable - the communication protocols used for iLink (FireWire) and USB are not compatible with each other. For the DCR-PC103E the iLink - USB

RE: Hello, I have a sony DCR-PC103E and want to transfer my videos to DVD.
@Erik-Geenen Hi and welcome to the foum . . . . I connected my camera via the I-link. . . . . Are you connecting the camera to a Firewire input on the computer? If so the camera does not support DV output over iLink/Firewire. In Video Easy, if you

RE: Magix Rescue Your Video Tapes doesn't recognise VCR
@KAL00 RYVT is not really designed for capturing the output of your two cameras, IMO. I quite regularly have to capture from either a Canon or a Sony video camera. I do use the Firewire connection from the cameras but capture into either Movie Edit

RE: Magix Rescue Your Video Tapes doesn't recognise VCR
Thank you johnebaker I’ll try that one. I’ll only be using it for normal video cassette tapes it appears. I downloaded the RYVT from Magix site. Im trying to record tapes from a Sony DCR-TRV460E Hi8/8mm and also tapes from a Canon MD160 MiniDV.

RE: Magix Rescue Your Video Tapes doesn't recognise VCR
Following on from this thread....I have RYVT version 9. It appears the driver issue is still not resolved. I have the black video grabber model no:K0065 . I have been attempting to attach camcorders unsuccessful as it asks for FireWire. I am running

@johnebaker @Kishor-Tanna @emmrecs Hi John Ha ha! Don't get @AAProds started on this subject.....but basically I think we all agree that if you are going to do any further editing and cleaning up of the digitised VHS material it is best to start

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H If you rendered them into an AVI format (as opposed to DV-AVI) they will be bigger. DV-AVI is 13gb/hour, whereas for example Lagarith (a lossless AVI format), is 30gb per hour. It will be better quality than a comparable DV-AVI export. In

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H Hi Jim I think the confusion here is that you have captured to DV-AVI which is what the ADVC-300 converts to by default to send via Firewire to Magix and your My record folder. DV-AVI is a medium compressed format and is the same as your

RE: Frame drop problem - frames don't make it to the final recording
@Nick-Mick Welcome to the Magix user to user forums. In my experience, "Dropped frames" are almost always caused by the host computer being unable to handle the throughput of the data stream, either to disc when importing the video, or from disc

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H The ADVC-300 will be a much more capable DV converter than your camcorder. It has controls for adjusting many video variables such as contrast, saturation, hue. I would therefore remove your camcorder from the chain completely and just use

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
You were right. I didn't have the AV->DV turned on in the camcorder. I got the feed from the VCR through the camcorder with no problem into MEP, and could record. However, when I hooked up the ADVC300 between the VCR and the camcorder, MEP didn't

VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015

RE: VPX12 New Version now out - New Features - Old bugs?
@emmrecs Never had need for DV recording since 2006, before then used them regularly - I am a little surprised they are still working - the FireWire connection was very fickle and prone to failure on some popular brands. @CubeAce . . . . I can only

@hdrechsel18 @emmrecs seriously consider whether it would be worth you investing in something like one of the Canopus (Grass Valley) range of hardware analogue to digital video convertors. This will allow you to convert the analogue footage from the
