I use MEP2020. I exported a 75 minute project as mpeg and it took ALL NIGHT (MANY hours!). Why so long?? This project was just 6 mts clips from my camcorder; nothing complicated.
Hi, I'm really really really no expert, the other people on here helped me speed up my exports, 20min videos were taking 30mins+ to export, but turning on the internal graphics in the Bios settings reduced exporting by half, now a 20mins vid exports in 10mins, not long after i changed this setting i got in touch with Magix who recommended a Nvidia card, I bought a GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB Graphics Card, £200+, i installed it, it made playback better but not the export, so i'm still using the internal GPU & exporting in half the movie time, It's fine by me as i needed to upgrade the graphics card but still well happy with the export time, I used to leave mine to export when i went to bed at the end of the night, it now exports in the time it takes to make a cuppa-ish
This is the msg thread i had with the people above, I don't know if this will help at all 🙃
It would help if you gave the specs of your computer and and project file specs. File sizes, codec used, frame rates, resolutions. Effects and transitions used etc.
Gid is correct in as much as an nvidia card helps mainly with playback but can help on export taking some of the load off of the Intel GPU on 3D rendering but not video encoding. Anything that alters the look of the original file will come with a time penalty when rendering. Depending on the effect, the more resource hungry the editor becomes leaving less GPU processing power for the video encoding.
Also depending on how MEP is set up can have an impact on what bits of your pc work on which problems up to a point.
Disk space can be an issue if there is not enough room for file swapping while the video is rendered.
Not having an Intel CPU with a GPU is a big problem as well, so if using an AMD CPU there is little hardware encoding going on if at all during export rendering.
[Edit] OK you are using an Intel processor. Please supply information with queries to save us hunting for possible causes.
Please read this topic and put your computer specification in your signature so we do not have to keep asking for it or have to go hunting through old posts.
. . . . This project was just 6 mts clips from my camcorder; nothing complicated. . . . .
I assume as these are .mts files that they are Full HD (1920 x 1080) video?
What transitions, and effects have been used on the video objects on the timeline?
