@Roger-Paradine

Welcome to the Magix forums.

First, can you tell us the full, exact name of the Magix product you are using? You wrote movie edit pro 16 but that "name" is rather confusing. Can you go to Help>About and tell us exactly what it says there?

Second, assuming you do have a version of Movie Edit Pro (and not Vegas Movie Studio which I believe does have a version 16) can you then read this post and give us ALL the information requested there. Also, please download and install the free MediaInfo utility, point it to one of your files which will not load into your editing program and paste the results of the Text view here.

Hi

. . . . trying to load an mp4 file from a new samsung s7. it tries to load and then shuts down the program . . . .

In addition to @emmrecs comment, where are you trying to load the video from - the phone direct or copying to the computer first?

hi, thank you for your reply. i'm using Vegas Movie Studio16. but i have found a happy ending. i installed a program named 'handbrake' which encoded the .mov file to .m4v and everything is now on the timeline. thank you for your help.

@Roger-Paradine

Hi

Vegas products have their own forum - see this topic.

You have posted in the Magix Movie Edit Pro forum, this program is another video editor from Magix and is very different from Movie Studio.

Pleased to here you have a workaround.

I will close this topic
