dvd menu

marc-few wrote on 11/17/2020, 6:34 AM

I upgraded to 2021 version, but have found a glitch or problem with the dvd menu (it works fine in 2020) after changing the text for the warm pan (movie clips turning across the page), when selecting preview it shows the screen before editing was made. This also writes the dvd the same and buttons are not working on finished product. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi

Is MEP 2021 up to date - the latest patch is 20.0.1.73?

The Warm Pan menu works fine here. When you changed the text did you click Apply to all or OK in the dialog shown below - if you click Apply to all this does not change the text.

Hi Mark.

Is your PC the Desktop Tower Computer-Intel Core i7-9700, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD, GeForce RTX 2060 6GB Graphics, WiFi + Bluetooth, HDMI, USB 3.1, Win 10-32GB version?

If so the spec looks very good but your version of Windows is several updates behind. That also suggests you may be very behind in your drivers as well.

I would first try updating all your graphics drivers if you are not keen on updating Windows and if that doesn't help then update Windows. Personally I would do both.

Ray.

Hi Ray

Yes that is my computer , Windows is always updating and graphics card was updated as well from nVidia. The thing is, it all works well in the 2020 version with no problems, but since updating to 2021 this happens, so I reistalled 2020 and it works how it should

Thanks

Marc

Hi

. . . . Dell XPS 8930 and Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 graphic card . . . .

The same spec to my machine in the Graphics GPU dept.

The most obvious candidate causing the issue is the MEP is not using the Intel iGPU (UHD 630)

Check the following:

In the Windows Graphics settings ensure that MEP is using the Power saving GPU as shown below

If the Intel GPU is not available there it may be disabled in the BIOS, you will need to enable it.

In the program settings the Video mode is set as shown below

Note:

  1. you may need a monitor or a Headless ghost device attached to the onboard graphics card to ensure the iGPU is active

I work with dual monitors and have one connected to the onboard GPU and the other to my RTX 2060.

  2. If you have a single monitor you can connect one of its spare inputs to the onboard gpu.

  3. MEP may use the RTX for Preview hardware acceleration, currently it cannot use it for Hardware accelerating on export.

  4. If you also use the computer for gaming then leave both monitors connected to the RTX and on one of them connect a spare input to the onboard GPU (Window will think you have 3 monitors attached)

When using either of the above methods with a single monitor, Windows only needs to see a monitor is attached, and it will think you are dual screen working.
