Final video after export has clips cut in half?!

Hi

I have created a video in MEPP and have exported it to finish the movie, but when i play it back (as a WMV) it cuts part of my clips apart as by the picture attached. You can see two sections overlaid but i have no idea why, when they are not even in sequence together. This has happened on at least 8 areas

Why?

Please read this topic and add your computer specification and program version to your signature - this will help for future questions.

We need more information as well as that requested above:

  1. What is the source of the video eg video camera DSLR, mobile phone etc?
     
  2. What format is the video ie mp4, mov, mpg etc and what resolution?
     
  3. What effects have been applied to the clips that are demonstrating this behaviour?

Pleas add any other information you think may be useful.

Hope the signature detail worked now!

1. Source is mixture of various mobile phones (all sorts of happy birthday clips, basically)

2. I wanted HD Quality 1 on windows media player as file pref (to be fair i have since tried all of them, to no avail)

3. No effects, only simple rotations

Are you mixing landscape with portrait clips by any chance?

There may be problems with rotations or resizing of clips.

Yes, it is a mixture of landscape and portrait clips throughout the video montage

That is what I was expecting.

Did you use the Rotation effect buttons, indicated by the red X, in the image below to rotate the offending clips to portrait as they imported sideways?

If so, there is a random bug with using these buttons, the workaround is to use the Rotation dial setting, circled in yellow, and set the value to +90 or -90 to rotate the clip clockwise or anti-clockwise.

There have not been enough individual reports of this issue to form any suggestion of a pattern. IIRC we have had 3 this year so far.

First we need to see if @lew experiences the same issue using the workaround.

It worked!! I went back through all the clips and re-rotated them typing in the degrees instead of the main button!
