Freeze & crash from a new user

I have just bought the latest Movie Edit Pro, run on i5 500Mb (300Gb free), Windows 10. After importing video and edits the product now freezes and the only action seems to be to close midway. This has happened many times now. I have uninstalled and intend to try again. How does one avoid this in the future? Have other users found this a problem?

Attempting to load DVD with cine transferred professionally. DVD plays but will not transfer into Magix Edit Pro for editing.

Hi and Welcome to the Movie Edit Pro user to user forum.

I'm sorry but can't comment on your first problem as we need specific details of the system Movie Edit Pro is running on. Which i5 processor (model number), which version and build of Windows 10, any additional graphics cards, amount of ram, etc? It could also be a driver issue and worth checking all your drivers are up to date.

Uninstalling the program and reinstalling may only make matters worse rather than better. That should be a last resort and done using the Microsoft Fixit tool and not uninstalling using the Windows option.

The second problem could be because if the DVD was a professionally made DVD it may well have had DRM added to it to prevent copies from being made. Movie Edit Pro will not import DRM (copyright protected) material but at this point is just a guess.

Sadly I have already uninstalled using windows. Where to now? I still am prepared to have another go with the programme, emptying the file of previous editing material and reinstall. Can you provide the necessary link/e-mail as I have attempted it using the original e-mail but its been activated of course and not responding.

Hi.

No, I'm afraid not. We are only users of the program here on the forum. Not Magix staff. For that you will have to email Magix directly using the sales@magix.net email address or the email address you got when they sent you your activation code. You should always keep such emails in a safe folder in your email account.

I assume you mean the download link in the email is not working.

If so:

  1. in your web browser browse to magix.com
  2. click the My Account icon top right of the home page -
     
  3. login with the email address you used to register/activate the program and password.
     
  4. select My products

There you will see your registered product along with a download link and serial number.

The computer specification you have given is incomplete.

See this topic for the details required and put your specification in your signature - see mine below as an example.
