I need better understanding on what features Movie Edit Pro keeps

So I try the trial version of Movie Edit Pro and looking at the feature list for Plus and Premium. It is confusing as to why it seems like I got certain features that is for Plus and Premium. One of them is snap markers, Movie Edit Pro shouldn't have it at all, another is Automatically remove gaps and so on. I only want Movie Edit Pro, I dont want to pay for expensive features that I dont use later on. So my question is:

  • Is size/position, 3D distortion & chroma key on Movie Edit Pro?
  • Will the video blocks lock together without me zooming in the timeline just to get the video blocks close as possible?
  • Is there a limit on keyframe? because I like it to be unlimited or close to a high number were I don't need to worry about it.
  • The trial version give me 3 minutes to export, is there a time limit on paid version or is it unlimited?

That is all I like to know, Movie Edit Pro has everything I want and I just want to make sure I buy the right one.

@Angel-Moreno

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

My suspicion is that the Trial version you have is "common" to all the variants of MEP, which is why you have access to features that are not present in the basic version. When you choose to buy the product and enter the registration/serial key you will receive after purchase, that will automatically determine and set the exact variant you have bought. IOW, it is entirely possible that you will find that those features which you have but which you don't think should be present, will disappear.

I assume you have carefully studied this page, which is the official comparison of versions listing?

  • Re size/position etc. question: I would expect those features to be there since they are basic editing requirements, but I can't be sure because I've never used the Basic version.
  • The "video blocks", more usually called video "objects", will be placed exactly where you put them! IOW, to ensure they are exactly adjacent, or "butted up" to each other, the user needs to drag them. Whether zooming in is necessary is debatable; it depends on the size of the user's viewing screen I suspect. If you are exporting a project MEP will warn you if it detects any "gaps" between those video objects.
  • I am not aware of any limit on keyframes.
  • The paid for version has no limit on the length of exported video.

Hi

If you have not done so I would suggest you watch these getting started tutorials for Movie Edit Pro, although they refer to a previous version the principles/functions are the same, though the program layout has changed.

        Getting started

        Basic editing pt1

Basic editing pt2 cutting and trimming

The paid version has all restrictions lifted and functionality and features, as listed in the comparison, that are not available in the trial version, are unlocked in the Plus and Premium versions.

Currently, nothing is on sale so you may want to wait a bit.

The difference in price between basic and Plus is not very much. If you get basic, you will quickly be disappointed.

When the magnet is on, objects snap together at the edges, even between tracks, and to snap markers and range markers.
