Movie Studio 2023 Premium stiil crash !!!

greg-123 wrote on 8/7/2023, 10:49 PM

It's impossible to work in a movie studio. The program keeps crashing. Adding new content causes almost constant crashes.

It wasn't like that from the beginning of the movie. Now when the movie is about 15 minutes long the program freezes almost every moment

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We need more information to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:

The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

What will not work, please be specific rather than a generalised comment ?

Are you getting any error messages, if so then please quote them in full or provide screen shots.

Are the graphics card/integrated GPU drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab  would help.

What video format, codec and resolution are you using - to help with this download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips causing the issue and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.

Hi, thanks a lot for your answer.
See below for additional information about the issues.
Forgive me if I described the problem too generally,
I'm new here but also very frustrated with these constant problems with the program.
It's not really working right now :(

My hardware - Lenovo IdeaPad340 Gaming
- CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz   2.40 GHz
- RAM - 8 GB
- system - x64 Microsoft Windows 11 Home (version 22H2 - 22621.1992)
- HDD - 500 GB SSD
- graphics cards
    - integrated - Intel UHD Graphics 630
    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
- Magix Movie Studio 2023 Platinium - version 22.0.3.172 (UPD3)

the program hangs when:
- when you try to add new content(movie, photo)
- when you move the movie pointer along the timeline
- when you try to save project - project file is after this operation corrupted (smaller than valid file)
- problems started when the project file exceeded 3 MB
- no error message - the program freezes and does not respond

@greg-123 Hi, can you share the MediaInfo of the media you're using,

The App John mentioned called MediaInfo will show all that's needed, download it, it's free & a fast download with no added adverts or any of that rubbish. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

After downloading, right click on the media file in your Windows folder, open MediaInfo, choose Text from the options at the top, Copy & paste the information in a new comment on here 👍

Hi

The hanging would suggest that the issue is related to the Windows 11 settings, Accessibility, Text cursor setting being on, if it is turn it off, this is known to affect another Magix program.

. . . . when you try to save project - project file is after this operation corrupted (smaller than valid file) . . . problems started when the project file exceeded 3 MB . . . .

Are you comparing this to:

  • other project files? Are they corrupt or fail when trying to reload them?

    or

  • The total file size of video/images etc on the on the timeline.

The project file should be smaller, it contains instructions and settings for what and where to place the objects on the timeline and effects etc applied, it does not contain any video, images, audio or effects files that are on the timeline.

@Paul-Scott

Paul, it would have been better to start a new thread as your crashing probably isn't related to the first post.

Anyway, a search for "ntdll.ll" in the forum search revealed this:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/access-violation-error-n-ntdll-dll--1351083/#ca2003279

That solution may work for you. Finger's crossed!

As @AAProds wrote, you should really have started a new thread with your question!

Did the linked thread provide the answer for you? If not, please do start a new thread. Because this current one refers to an earlier version of Movie Studio (which version do you have?) I am going to close it.
