My software stopped working

Good morning,

A few years ago, I purchased the Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 software from you. I registered it, and it worked perfectly.

However, it has recently stopped working and displays an error message indicating that there is some kind of problem. I have already tried registering it again, but it still doesn't work.

Could you please let me know what I should do to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Are there any other legacy support sites? Audio Cleaning Lab 4 has stopped working for me this week - I've tried reinstalling but get the same error. I guess something in a windows update has broken ACL4.

On my main PC ACL crashes on start with error 0xC0000005 () “The instruction at 0x0000000000000000 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be Write”

On a secondary PC I can get the programme to start but the ID3 editor in Tracks menu option won't open, and simply editing tags leads to random deletions when I cut out sections

Usage scenario is to edit 3 hour stereo audio of music sessions, tag and split into individual songs, chop out inbetween chat, eq enhancements, normalise, export as separate tagged MP3s. Tried doing this in Audio Studio 17 but it's painstaking, and can't even complete all tasks, like tagging.

Hi @Thomas-McEwan, there is a specific forum for Magix ACL.
That said, you might try uninstall-reinstall again, using a third-party uninstaller like 'Revo Uninstall' that can remove the left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which can cause an issue to reoccur. Revo Uninstall has a pro and freeware versions. The free version is adequate in most cases,

If you are editing MP3 files (and if ALC has the same option as Sound Forge AS and Pro), try enabling "Always proxy compressed formats"

@Thomas-McEwan Does it help if you reset the program settings via the Help menu to its default behavior?

On the computer where you cannot start ACL, you can try to rename or delete the AMLab_x64.ini config file. This should be identical to resetting the program settings. I believe the file is stored in the Audio Cleaning Lab folder in the C:\ ProgramData\ directory.
