No audio when opening video in Movie Edit Pro Plus

When creating video I get an expansion package is needed in order to use this audio feature. do you want to download for free. I click download but still no audio. Running on windows 7. Have been using Magix for long time. First time I see this issue. Any one have any idea how to fix

Using Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus 2020 ver. 19.0.2.58. Running Windows 7 64-bit OS with latest updates. PC specs: i7-2600, 3.40 ghz cpu, 16gb memory, Nvidia GeForce video card. That would not have made any difference to the issue, which is due to expansion package, the Dolby Surround Sound module, is no longer available for older versions of MEP, this also means that you cannot export video or create AVCHD discs with Surround Sound.

For existing video I would suggest you run them through a video converter such as Handbrake to convert the audio to AAC stereo format. These will import directly into MEP.

If you use Handbrake set the Video tab as shown below

and Audio tab as shown below

AFAICS the Sony HDR-XR160 audio only records in Dolby Digital Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound - try changing the audio recording mode to stereo and make a test recording to see if this will import into MEP 2020.
