@Tim-OHara

Tech support is via a ticketing system through the Support link at the top of the page of the Vegas product forum - do note it can take up to 2 days to receive a reply.

If you need an answer quicker post in the Movie Studio forum section of the forum I linked to above.

I upgraded to 2021 Premium from 2020 Movie Edit Premium Plus , now none of my videos are displaying (Preview or in timeline). I hear sound but no video. Need help asap.

Like the original post I am having the exact same problem. I've had the MEP Plus 2016 version for about four years with no problem and decided to purchase the new MEP Pro Premium (Version 19.0.2.58 UDP3 UG Code 8445 KA2) as I have been using MEP Pro Plus for several years without any issues however I'm having several problems especially with the wonky green screen (chroma key) settings. Following the advice from others in this forum I just updated to the 2021 version and now I can't see any video (only audio) and additionally the program is noticeably much much slower. As was posted here I also am incredibly frustrated.

Hi.

In Program Settings Display options. Make sure the the video mode is set to Intel Graphics as I think your nvidia card is no longer able to support the new version of MEP. If that doesn't work try setting the video mode to Compatibility mode.

Hi All, I went back to the older version as I had a deadline and I had already wasted lots of time trying to fix the issue. I now see some solutions so I am going to try again! Let you know how it goes.

MAGIX Premium Support contacted me this morning and gave the following suggestion which worked for me. I upgraded to 2021 and followed the instructions and it worked for me.

Dear Mr. Ellis,

since we use a new technology for hardware encoding during playback in our latest programs and have activated this feature by default, older graphic cards may have problems with it.

This is probably the case with you. But you can solve this problem by just deactivating this feature via "File > Settings > Program..." Then open the "Import/Export" tab and uncheck "Hardware acceleration for playback if possible"

Now it should work.

Thanks a lot, unchecking "hardware acceleration" solved my problem.

I went to open my Magix Edit Pro Plus today and I got this screen that said to update it. So I did. Now none of my videos will play agian just like before. Back when I had the same problem you told me to...

"You can solve this problem by just deactivating this feature via "File > Settings > Program..." Then open the "Import/Export" tab and uncheck "Hardware acceleration for playback if possible"

It worked back then but now after I undated my Magix Edit Pro Plus I tried doing the same thing but when I went to "File > Settings > Program..." Then open the "Import/Export" tab and uncheck "Hardware acceleration for playback" It was not there. There was no Hardware acceleration for playback to uncheck.

What do I have to do to get my videos to work again?

@William-Kaufman

Hi William.

Still go to file / Settings / Program but this time open Device options.

There you will find the hardware acceleration settings.

They are the Import, Processing, and Export, boxes.

Left click on each and first try selecting 'Microsoft WARP device' for all of them and see it that works.

If that does not work or indeed is not in the boxes, then choose CPU.

Press OK to exit and load a project.

Good luck.

Ray.
