@Malcolm-Harcus

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

With MM 2021 open and a project loaded, you should see the pitch bar as in my screenshot below.

Thanks for your reply Jeff. I have tried everything. But I still don’t get that drop down that you have circled. It’s so annoying. Is their another player I can download? An older version of premium ?

@Malcolm-Harcus

OK.

Have you checked under View>Arranger>Show pitch ranges is ticked? If I untick that, the pitch bar disappears for me.

Finally, perhaps as a last resort, have you tried clicking on View>Standard layout (shortcut F4)?

Hi

The pitches issue is item 10 on the bug list here. Some times it works others not - Magix are aware of this and we are awaiting a fix.

When I tick the pitches bar in the menu it comes up with a very small bar with wave file on it so it must be a glitch in the machine if you like. Thanks for your valuable time Jeff, John. Much appreciated

I just purchase premium 2021 today and see there is no pitches dropdown. I also did the latest update but didn't help. I am very disappointed. Would reinstalling maybe fix this? Can I talk to someone about downloading version 2020 instead?

Malcolm-Harcus wrote on 1/27/2021, 2:17 AM

Hi Monique-wyatt. I had exactly the same problem as you but it just appeared one day and has been ok since. I tried re installing and all sorts but nothing worked. You could maybe try re setting the work space. ( go to view-standard layout )I have to do that when I get annoyed at some of the flaws the program has 😉 hope you get it sorted

Hi

To see the pitch range bar it has to be turned on as shown below

The pitch range only works with the Magix Soundpools (loops) - it does not work with audio files eg wav, mp3 etc.

and you can change the pitch as shown below

Hi John I fully understand how it works but it is still a bug that obviously hasn’t been resolved instead of the pitch bar you either get nothin when you activate it or you get a small wav line instead. Then the next time you use it the pitch bar is there like Magic 🙆🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I just put up with it now !

Can you post a screen shot of this as the Pitch bar issue was fixed with update 29.0.5.29.

Here is a screenshot showing that the pitch range bar is turned on, however what is displayed under the loop range is a waveform instead (looks like a copy of the upper portion of the first track). I'm running MMM 64-bit version 29.0.5.32 and I have downloaded and installed all the features and content available (the download tab in the media pool doesn't show anything pending installation, although for some reason the EssentialFX feature gets re-downloaded every time I start the program)

After taking the screenshot, I just tried turning off the "Objects with Stereo image" option and the pitch bar showed up, however it's really not working as it should (e.g., the pitch dividers don't show up until I move the mouse pointer over the pitch bar, after selecting a couple of options from the pitch dropdown I'm ending up with pitch changes that don't really follow the pitch bar, and clicking on "undo" brings me back to the pitch bar not shown, and last but not least, the program sometimes crashes and restarts when changing the pitch)

Hi

. . . . what is displayed under the loop range is a waveform instead (looks like a copy of the upper portion of the first track) . . . .

Please note that waveform means what you see in the objects as shown below, which the image posted definitely is not showing - with the settings you have selected it should look similar to this

However what is showing is your email address - please edit the image to blank this out or remove the image.

It certainly looks like the track 1 objects are doubled up, however I do not think they are - there are several 'handles' and the audio waveforms missing from all the objects on the timeline which suggests the view did not update correctly

Try resetting all the track heights to Big, then Default by right clicking the free space in a track header and selecting the options shown below

This should correct the display.

If that fails - try resetting the program to it default settings, - File, Settings, Reset .....

Note -  this will reset any custom settings you have made, and also revert the default project track to 4 tracks - you will need to correct these after resetting.

Thank you very much for your response and for noticing that my email address was in the picture. I blurred it out.

I tried all the suggested steps: I reset the heights and the pitch bar was still not working correctly. Then I did the full reset to program defaults and it still didn't fix the issue. It looks like on my machine the only way to get the pitch bar to show up is to turn off the "Objects with stereo images" option
