Program Monitor Not displaying video

Hi, So I'm having some major issues with my editing software. I'm using Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium 2020 And was having some big issues with it originally not displaying right. Then when I managed to fix that I downloaded an update (9/14/22) and Every time I put a clip into the timeline nothing shows up on the preview monitor. It plays like normal and I can hear the audio, but even when I try exporting it it comes out black.

I honestly don't know what to do, I use it for my personal work as well as for my actual job as a video editor. I Use the same program (But not the same update) On my laptop and it dose work.

@Matthew-Fauntleroy

Hi

The most likely cause of the black preview is the Program Settings, Device options, Import, Processing and Export options have been reset by the update.

Without knowing your system specs:

  1. Ensure that the graphics card drivers up to date before testing as detailed below.

  2. set all 3 options above to CPU and then test importing the video, change the options one by one to determine which are the best combination for you.

I would suggest you put your computer specification in your Profile, Signature - see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
