I need a video editing program for my new laptop.
My camcorder is Canon XA-10. Records .m2ts files. 50i 1920*1080 24 Mbps.
That video format is no longer popular.
On my old laptop I used Adobe Premiere Elements.
But that program no longer exports .m2ts files. Plus more changes which I dislike.
So for my new laptop I need another program.
As far as I can see, Magix Movie Studio doesn't handle .m2ts files at all.
The question is then if I should install the trial version of Video Pro X or Vegas Pro.
1. Which one of these two programs can best handle .m2ts files?
I realize that I should transcode my old videos, and all new ones, but for simple editing, it appears most logical to both import and export .m2ts files.
I mean, only transcode what I plan to preserve.
2. I am a no budget filmmaker.
I have spent a few thousand hours editing. In front of all I have used Premiere Elements.
Some weeks I edit a lot, but sometimes I have months when I don't touch the editing program.
So I am looking for something powerful. Something which is also easy to learn since one quickly forgets.
DaVinci freeware is so complicated that I prefer not to use it. While other freewares are not powerful enough.
So which one of these two programs is most suitable for a person in my situation?
3. Where do I find the user manual for each program?
4. How do I pay? Or how do I find a retailer here in Sweden?
