Software keeps crashing and freezing for no reason

Okay, I'm just about ready to say this was one of the worst software investments I have ever made. I am creating very simple videos, using an already completed introduction, some initial text saying what it is and a pre-recorded audio. simple. Simple. SIMPLE.

For the last day and a half, I have been working to render and create an mp4 file, and no matter what I do the software freezes and will not unfreeze, not finish doing what it was doing, no matter how long I attempt to let it resolve, it's an issue.

At this point, I'm just about ready to call it worthless junk.

It is interesting because I've used it now for two months and it worked perfectly and I was delighted and then out of the blue, BAM it just stops working. I have plenty of horsepower, no issue there, lots of ram and CPU to spare.

If there is an upgrade that needs to happen because of a Windows update, then why haven't you done it?

I see that there are others complaining about this also. Your entire job is to make sure the software is stable on the platform that I purchased it for, and yet it is way not stable.

Thanks for letting me vent.

@David-Maria

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so your vent/rant is being delivered to other users and not Magix staff!

If you are genuinely seeking help from us please start by telling us exactly which version of VPX you have. You can check under Help>About.

Then please tell us a lot more about your computer hardware and software; this post will show you the sort of information that is invaluable in diagnosing problems. Make sure to include the exact model number of both your CPU and any separate GPU, please. Unfortunately, the fact that you have plenty of horsepower, ... lots of RAM and CPU to spare doesn't really tell us anything useful, sorry!

Then, please show us a screenshot of the actual export settings you are using for your mp4 file.

Then, since you say you've not used it for two months and it worked perfectly we must, inevitably, ask the question: What has changed on your computer in the time between being able to use the software, and now? On my own computer, Windows is fully up-dated and I see no change in how my version of VPX (I'm running the current latest build, 19.0.1.106) interacts with Windows.

Thank you Jeff, I saw no place on your site to send a tech support email, so I posted here.

CPU Intel core i5-6600 K 3.50 Ghz
Ram 16,330 mb

I'm using Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum, build 223

And I miswrote above. I should have said I have been using the software now for two months and it has mostly worked perfectly,

I always keep Windows up to date.

Thank you, Jeff, any advice you can give is appreciated.

Sincerely,

David Maria

@David-Maria

Movie Studio 17 Platinum is part of the Vegas range of products. These have their own forum, here.

Those who post here are users, so the site is not ours and we generally have little or no experience with the Vegas product range so you really should repost your question, and all the information, to the Vegas forums I linked to.

This thread will be closed.
