Still have Phantom audio playing in the middle of nowhere

I always apply an overall sharpen in the Movie effects settings, Sharpness tab - the maximum amount I apply for 4K video is 30, and never on the object on the timeline, sharpening twice is not good!

I thought that I was the only one who added Sharpness to an overall movie. Glad to hear it's not just me who thinks the videos look soft.

Started with MEP 11, then 17, then MX, then MEP 2013, 2015, then 2016. Changed to the fast competitor after that, which worked fine with my non-Intel hardware. Then bought a used Dell with an Intel GPU, just to play with MEP again. Installed MEP 2020 Plus in March 2020, even tho I don't like losing patches if I have to reinstall after a year.

Testing on a Dell Vostro, <s>i3-8100</s> updated to i5-9400 w/ UHD 630, 16 GB 2400 DDR4 (CL15), Win10 Home, heavily NTLite'd. Now with GTX-1650 Super OC'd. Added a WD Blue M.2 for OS (PCIe 3), Apps, Temps and Video-In. 2 Monitors. A WD Blue SSD for outputs. (SATA III.)

Well, as some might have seen, last evening a unified Project with only ONE MOVIE file was exported to MP4 format (although it's extension is M2TS). It took hours. But for whatever reason, phantom audio still occurs and in one or two spots there is no audio last for a few seconds. I accepted that this ridiculously long video would have a flaw or two. In summary, I did move the included video clip objects to other folders and MEP offered the option to find them in new folders and I did so. That did not fix the issue. I had also tried moving all of the tracks downward and deleting the now empty tracks. Did not fix.

Since I now had successfully exported the movie/project, this morning I figured the entire Project was one movie. So I again, did a Ctrl-A (everything was selected) and used multitrack to again move all tracks down. I moved Tracks 1-5 down to Tracks 6-10. I then deleted the now empty Tracks 1-5. That left the Tracks back into the top rainge. Saved it all. Went to the locations of the Phantom audio and the missing audio. Still phantom and still missing. I guess that I overwhelmed MEP in some fashion. I will go along with the Native American rug weaving concept - there is no perfect. A few blemishes is what makes it a human production. You know a Starbucks coffee cup in Game of Thrones (g)

Thanks to teaching me a number of new tricks and new skills and for the patience in leading me.

I can also assure you that no project will be this long again. MEP and I go back to at least 2004 and a twelve day hike along the Haute Route, a number of High Sierra adventures, 2007 and via ferrata in the Dolomites, cross-country skiing in the Dolomites, Austria and Norway, Paris twice. While there have been many great trips, none were as filled with art, people, music, history, architectural splendor and pandas as this two week trip to China. It truly was an amazing trip. Hard to leave much out.

Hi

. . . . MP4 format (although it's extension is M2TS) . . . .

These are not quite the same.

Assuming to used a standard export preset, and did not make any changes to it, then the .M2TS file is encoded with the AVC codec and this is commonly referred to as an AVCHD file.

The MP4 file format is normally encoded with the h.264 codec which is the generally accepted codec when you say MP4 file.

The difference between to comes down:

file size - the AVCHD should be smaller in files size

not all players can play AVCHD

MP4 h.264 is the 'universal format' and you should select the appropriate preset from the drop down list.

Ensure the Display all option- arrowed - is checked - as in the example image above - you will then see all the various export formats - here I was selection the MP4 FullHD 50 fps option.

. . . . no project will be this long again . . . .

I have nearly finished a project from a holiday of 9 weeks in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand - it is broken down buy location and subject, and currently will contain 22 individual movies range from 5 - 15 mins long.

I will add that the project is not being assembled in MEP, I am using DVD Architect to do this as it is more sophisticated enabling me to creat among other things individual playlists.

OT

. . . . cross-country skiing in the Dolomites . . . .

Beautiful scenery, however I found the town and skiing was disappointing when I was there a few years ago.

Thanks for the MP4/M2TS differences. I might give another export a go. As for length - I more or less created this for me. Two friends I went with on this trip suggested an edited version. But frankly attempting to pare it down would be more editing than I can handle after this go-around. When we are beyond "social distancing" we can get together and attempt to sit down with food and drink and make our way through it - or not! Doing quick calculations, even if I took out 400 jpg's that would only shorten it by about 20 minutes. Editing some of the included video clips might save another five or six minutes. It would still be ENDLESS (G). I could cut out museums and that might help!

OT: Dolomites. We cross-country skied out of Castelroto/Kastelruth and Dobbioco/Toblach. The scenery is quite incredible. Here in the Seattle area, I am now kind of limited to up a forest road for a couple of hours and a plunge down. There endless horizons of snow with limestone peaks are wonderful. I no longer back-country ski. I will admit that my age has changed the way I approach some of the terrain compared with even five years ago. But there were still options for, well, more interesting challenges there and I got my adrenaline level up a few times (g).
