Uninstalled soundpool recovery

Enoch_Cheelong wrote on 11/18/2020, 4:13 AM

Hi,

After installing Music Maker Premium 2021, there were two instances of 'feelgood' soundpool, so I uninstalled one.

But then, when trying to use the 'feelgood' soundpool, MM couldn't find the .ogg files.

So I uninstalled the left over 'feelgood' soundpool, thinking I would be able to re-install just one instance of it.

But now, I cannot find where to find the 'feelgood' soundpool.

I tried uninstalling Music Maker and reinstalling it, to no avail.

Please advise thanks~

Hi and welcome to the forum.

After uninstalling a Soundpool, it should re-appear in your Downloads tab, if not go to the Store locate it and download/install again - ensure you do a Soundpol cleanup - in the program settings tab before re-installing the Soundpool and if it duplicates again repeat the clean up.

Thank you for the welcome!

I did as your suggestion and went to Program settings and did a 'Clean up Store...' and 'Rescan Soundpools...'
But still nothing in the Downloads tab and not showing up in the Store tab when I search for "Feel Good".
It's not the one with the piglet "feel good house".

This particular soundpool is the Free "Feel Good" Soundpool that comes with the Free version of Music Maker.

Do I have to uninstall and install the Free Version of Music Maker to get this Free "Feel Good" Soundpool?

Hyrum-Clyde wrote on 11/27/2020, 6:09 PM

I am having this same problem. I have gone through the normal steps to clean up the store and rescan soundpools. "Feel Good" is nowhere to be found, as I believe it is normally installed as part of the free version of Music Maker.

Is there a URL you can send us to re-download the .ogg files, or is there another way to get the "Feel Good" sound pool to show up again in the Downloads tab?

Note: I am a new Premium User. Is there a way to track the sound pools that I have purchased/redeemed/used?

Enoch_Cheelong wrote on 11/28/2020, 4:16 AM

Still cannot find "Feel Good" soundpool also. 🙁

Since it is a free soundpool, Magix should have a download link for it, IMHO.

Hopefully someone can help.

browj2 wrote on 11/28/2020, 8:18 AM

I have it under:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\Music Maker - Feel good

and it shows up under loops as "Music Maker - Feel Good."

It is not under the Shop.

@Enoch_Cheelong

Since you deleted the folder, do you not have a backup or the deleted files under the Recycle bin?

BTW, do not delete any of these types of files unless you have a backup. If they were not purchased under the Store, like older Soundpools, you are responsible for keeping the files safe, as they cannot be downloaded again. I have a hundred or so Soundpools purchased before the Store was added to Music Maker.

I have a bad(?) habit of emptying my Recycling Bin every time I see it. 😂
So it won't be in my computer if uninstalling from MM deletes it.

Since you deleted the folder, do you not have a backup or the deleted files under the Recycle bin?

It seemed obvious at that time that I could re-download a free soundpool in my shallow mind.
Didn't think it would be this hard, or it seems impossible. Oh well~

Hmm. Just got an idea.

I will try to install a free-version on a spare computer, then copy the "Music Maker - Feel Good" from the directory you showed onto a floppy disk, then copy it into my original computer. 👍

Hi

What are the specifications of your computers and which Windows version are they running - see this topic for details of what is required?

I was just joking with the floppy disk 😝, I do miss them though.

I'm so not bothered to hook up another computer and try my own solution.

The download time for MM(free) was around 2 hrs so I just unplugged due to having only one LAN cable. If I do try this method, which seems viable, I will surely post the results.

Hi

Thanks for the clarification on floppy disks - mentioning them sets alarm bells ringing 😂 - obviously you have a sense of humor 👍.

Your proposal seems viable.

OT - looking at your computer spec is also looks like this is a heavy duty gaming machine. One aspect that would give me concern is the 2 x SSD in a raid 0 configuration, I hope you keep good backups.

So did you end up fixing it? I just bought Music Maker yesterday, had literally the same issues word for word, and now cannot find the soundpool either....??

Not off to a good start with the software, I gotta say lol
