Unsuccessful attempt to load to Social Media (YouTube)

I recently purchased/loaded MEP Plus 2021 (version 20.1.0.80 (UDP3)) to a Dell XPS 15 7590 with Intel(R) Core (TM) i9-9980HK @ 2.4GHz, 32GB RAM and GPU 0 Intel (R) UHD Graphics 630 & GPU 1 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. 64bit x64 based processor with Windows 10. Fairly new to the editing process.

I loaded recent travel videos and pics from my GoPro Hero Black 7 and had no problems importing to my laptop. I was then able to compile a 7 minute video with no issues. I went to my YouTube Channel and did a Create -> Upload Videos -> Select Files where I selected the .mvp file. A couple seconds later I received the Upload Complete, Processing will begin shortly message but then followed by a Processing Abandoned message. I went back to MEP and tried the Share -> YouTube -> Upload Current Movie as Video, selected Community: YouTube but received the message: "An Error Occurred when Uploading. Please Try Again.".

Am I missing something? The movie, music and basic graphics work perfectly in the MEP playback so not sure why it doesn't load to YouTube.

Hi Chris and welcome to the User to user forums.

An MVP file is a project file and not a video file type. It contains no video itself as it is just an instruction set telling MEP how the video clips have been edited ready for conversion into a video file.

So first you have to convert the file into a video file by going to File \ Export Movie and selecting either Video as MP-4 or Video as HEVC (The latter needs s paid for convertor) and selecting the project frame rate and resolution of the files used for the project and converting the project into a usable file for upload to YouTube.

Ray.

Hi

Assuming you are new to Movie Edit Pro (MEP) I would suggest you watch the following tutorials on getting started with MEP.

  1. Getting started

  2. Basic editing pt1

  3. Basic editing pt2 cutting and trimming

In addition to @CubeAce comment the YT video format requirements for uploading are here.

I would advise advise exporting and checking the video before unloading to YT using their own uploader.
