I would like to upgrade to version 18, but although resident in spain, i am redirected to the us shop and upgrade is rejected. How can I reset my account so that I am registered as spanish?

You have posted in the Video Pro X (VPX) forum and VPX latest is version 13.
Do you mean Movie Studio 18?
Do note:
Magix Movie Studio 18 is a very different program from earlier versions, if you want to continue finishing projects in earlier versions of Studio then do not upgrade yet.
I would suggest you read this topic and view the tutorials before upgrading once you have completed any projects you are working on, you will also find that Movie Studio 18 has a lot more features and functions then the old Movie Studio.
Vegas Creative Software have dropped further development of Vegas Movie Studio, this has been replaced by Magix Movie Studio 18 which is based on Movie Edit Pro 2021 (Video Deluxe 2021) and has limited import capabilities for older Vegas movie Studio projects - there has been a lot of confusion over this as Magix Movie Studio is still listed on the Vegas software site, however it is now a Magix product.
The Magix Movie Studio and Movie Edit Pro brands will be merged into one program.
