Wave Hammer - Sound Forge 18

Joseph-Carvalho wrote on 3/26/2026, 2:14 PM

There is an Wave Hammer issue when using SF 18.

Suppose I open Wave Hammer and use a preset. When I open it again, it always forgets the one I had used. I started noticing this problem in SF18.

@Joseph-Carvalho I read a comment here years ago from a user who got a response from the technical support and apparently this behavior is by design. I think this was changed around Sound Forge 15?

Hi @Joseph-Carvalho and @SP., if the Wave Hammer preset is saved, it will return afterwards when WH is cancelled and re-opened.. but always to the last saved WH preset configuration.. This only occurred in SFP-17, 18 and Audio Studio-17, SFP-15 and 16 displayed the legacy behavior where the last WH changes reoccurred without re-saving the preset .. which I preferred as well.

apparently this behavior is by design.

a design by someone who does not use Sound Forge. What will they f__ up next? If there is a next..

Since today Sound Forge is listed as a new app in the Boris FX Hub (as is Vegas). If they took the software over from Magix we might finally get some updates in the near future.

Hi @SP.

Did BorisFX buy Vegas Creative Software?

Website is showing Sound Forge 2026. Sound Forge will now receive updates. Magix had abandoned it.

@john_barr They even have a page for Acid Pro. So all its bugs might get fixed as well. Very good news.
