@John-Wurm Magix released updated drivers for Windows 10 a few years ago, but I don't know if they also work with Windows 11. The links are here:

Video Converter Premium – Download drivers: https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/FCAqGVxG

Video Converter Red – Download drivers: https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/1ZAKGalW

Video Converter Black – Download drivers: https://dl03.magix.net/magix_usb_video_driver_black_int.zip

Extract the entire folder to any directory.

Disable your antivirus software.

Right-click on the "Setup.exe" file.

Select "Run as administrator."

The drivers will now be installed.

If drivers are already installed on your PC, first select "Remove" and then restart the driver installation.

Alternatively, you could buy a new USB video grabber from Amazon, for example. The basic ones cost around €10-30.

Thanks for info, but I am in over my head. after several hours the 'grabber' is located in "other devices' and the drivers do not get there and I have no idea how to fix it.

SP. wrote on 1/1/2026, 3:01 AM

@John-Wurm As far as I know the K0065 or K0067 need the premium driver.

Usually, you can simply uninstall devices from the Windows device via right click on them.

John-Wurm wrote on 1/3/2026, 3:04 PM

Thank you SP, you were correct the premium version was needed, after another hour I am able to see the video on the computer screen. The new problem is that when I click on "transfer video to computer" the video freezes and nothing more happens. This is from an analog camcorder. It looks and sounds fine on the viewing window until I click as mentioned and nothing shows up on the other screen behind.

@John-Wurm To which Windows directory are the videos recorded to? There were reports from users that OneDrive synchronization can interfere with the correct functioning of Magix software under Windows. If OneDrive is enabled and the Magix user files folder is located under OneDrive, Windows might try to upload the files to the cloud simultaneously while you record them.

John-Wurm wrote on 1/3/2026, 4:35 PM

Location is c:\users\acer\documents\magix. I do not use onedrive because only have original ADSL internet, 1.5 Mb speed download.

SP. wrote on 1/3/2026, 5:31 PM

@John-Wurm Ok, this folder should be fine. Which version of the Magix Rescue Your Video Tapes version do you have? If it's an older version it might help to make a right click on the desktop icon and then on Properties. In the properties you can enable a compatibility mode for an older version of Windows, for example Windows 7.

I assume that Microphone and Camera access is already enabled on your computer because you can see and hear the video. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-camera-microphone-and-privacy-a83257bc-e990-d54a-d212-b5e41beba857

Just in case if it doesn't work, you could try to install the free trial version of Magix Video Deluxe 2026 and check if you can record with it.

I don't know how to add info to my "profile signature" I use ACER Aspire A514-46 Laptop with AMD Ryzen 3 3350U. Display AMD Radeon Vega 6 Graphics. 12 Gb solid state RAM. C: is solid state 476 Gbyte with 295 Gb free. Win 24H2 Home edition with updates through 2025-12. Don't know version # of Magix Video Easy RYVT. CD has a line "Charge 1.0, 8542KA1. bought in April 2024, looked daunting and not tried to use till now. <nothing easy so far>

John-Wurm wrote on 1/8/2026, 9:14 AM

I have put the requested info in my profile, only forgot to say that the source is vhs or 8mm video tapes via L,R, composite Video via rca cables.

John-Wurm wrote on 2/3/2026, 1:18 PM

I have provided the requested information and put in my profile also, have not received any additional ideas. Is there a log file created when trying to run this software? there is information floating around the web regarding sound, video, high definition audio, driver incompatibility with win 11, etc. problems but nothing I can understand. There is nothing EASY that I can see.

@John-Wurm It really depends on how old your USB video grabber device is. If it is really from 2023/2024, I think it should work fine on Windows 11 and simply install its driver automatically.

Can you check inside the program under the Help menu (it could be located under Help > About) the version of your program and the year it's from? Just in case you bought old stock that is out of support. Then you don't have much choice except getting another USB video grabber from stores like Amazon.

Hi

. . . . CD has a line "Charge 1.0, 8542KA1. . . . .

This means the USB grabber you have should be the K0065, it should be printed on the back of the driver casing. @SP. has provided the link to the correct driver.

Indeed, I have the K00065 and the driver that was recommended in earlier posts, and I can see the video playing in the screen of the laptop when I start the video player. BUT when I press the '"Save to Computer" (or what ever the instructional phrase is on the screen) then the image freezes and locks up and the sound quits also. I have seen chatter that the win 11 core is very protected and could be a problem. Under Update Notifier: Other the check box selected says "Send analysis data to Magix"

Hi

Assuming you turned on the 2 options mentioned by @SP. above, ie Allow desktop apps to access your Camera/Microphone ? The Camera setting is shown below and the Microphone setting is the similar.

Are you logging on to the computer using a Microsoft account and using OneDrive to store your douments folder in the OneDrive cloud?

my screens don't look like yours. The camera settings seems to include Magix in the desktop apps portion, which is different than the first sesction. The separate microphone settings does not include Magix, it does not appear in the list which allows yes or no on the apps listed. The text says that not all apps show in this list . I don't know how to add to this list, if it is even possible.

SP. wrote on 2/6/2026, 11:19 AM

@John-Wurm If you see a preview you are basically good to go.

Have you tried to record with another software, for example OBS https://obsproject.com/ or the new trial version of Magix Video Deluxe or Magix Vegas? Maybe the software version of Rescue Your Video Tapes is too old and it doesn't work correctly on Windows 11. So I would try another program, just to make sure it's not a general problem.

John-Wurm wrote on 2/6/2026, 12:36 PM

thanks for the suggestion, I was reluctant fearing using another software would make matters worse.

Hi

. . . . The camera settings seems to include Magix in the desktop apps portion . . . .

That is where they should be and they are added automatically for both Camera and Microphone.

Microsoft referring to Apps and Desktop Apps can be confusing, their distinction between the two is, IMHO, blurred.

In addition to @SP.'s comment, if OBS works, there may be a permissions issue.

Try running RYVT in administrator mode, right click the program shortcut and select Run as Administrator, this will run the program with higher privileges than the standard 'Administrator account' a user may have.
