Thanks for info, but I am in over my head. after several hours the 'grabber' is located in "other devices' and the drivers do not get there and I have no idea how to fix it.
Thank you SP, you were correct the premium version was needed, after another hour I am able to see the video on the computer screen. The new problem is that when I click on "transfer video to computer" the video freezes and nothing more happens. This is from an analog camcorder. It looks and sounds fine on the viewing window until I click as mentioned and nothing shows up on the other screen behind.
@John-Wurm To which Windows directory are the videos recorded to? There were reports from users that OneDrive synchronization can interfere with the correct functioning of Magix software under Windows. If OneDrive is enabled and the Magix user files folder is located under OneDrive, Windows might try to upload the files to the cloud simultaneously while you record them.
@John-Wurm Ok, this folder should be fine. Which version of the Magix Rescue Your Video Tapes version do you have? If it's an older version it might help to make a right click on the desktop icon and then on Properties. In the properties you can enable a compatibility mode for an older version of Windows, for example Windows 7.
