Hi Matthew and welcome to the user to user forums.

If you have Movie edit Pro 2022 it will not run on Windows 7. I'm pretty sure the last version didn't either.

The program needs Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 as it needs to run a higher version of Direct X than is available to Win 7.

Did you check the specs page before buying? If you are running an older machine it may still not run well if the computer specs do not match or exceed all the requirements.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Assuming this is Movie Edit Pro(MEP) 2022, or Movie Studio (MMS) 2022, then the error message you are getting is because the programs require DirectX 12 installed to run.

The programs minimum specification is Windows 8. Windows 7 is not supported because it does not support DirectX 12. Microsoft do have a special version of DirectX12 for Windows 7, however it is for certain games only.

Additionally both programs have higher system hardware requirements, what is your computer specification? See this topic for details required and please quote the processor and graphics card/chipset make/model in full.

It would help for future reference if you include the specs in your Profile, Signature - see mine for an example.
