Scarborough Fair

I have liked this song ever since I first heard it sung by Simon and Garfunkel

"Scarborough Fair" is a traditional English ballad about the Yorkshire town of Scarborough. ... The lyrics... appear to have something in common with an obscure Scottish ballad, The Elfin Knight (Child Ballad #2), which has been traced at least as far back as 1670 and may well be earlier."

Thanks for listening.

Trish

Beautiful. You really captured the spirit of this tune and enhanced it with your always delicate, emotional, and tasteful playing. And the various sounds are interwoven perfectly, another Trish trademark. I enjoyed it. Hope you continue the great work you've been doing.

Beautifully reproduced, brings back many memories.
I was just working and I was listening.
It does not always have to be sung. Melody is a message.

Hi Trish,
I do not know the original song, but your interpretation is really fabulous.
Music that makes you imagine a medieval fairy tale, I see it well as a soundtrack to a film set in the Middle Ages.
Poetry and delicacy.
Applause.

Ooh! This one almost slipped under my radar, which would have been a great shame. Lovely rendition of a folk classic. It was due to be played at my mum-in-law's funeral a couple of years ago. All that went out the window when the crematorium was struck by lighting mid service, and we were plunged into darkness. Do you think this mild mannered woman was trying to tell us something as she departed?

Back on track, literally, this is great. Your ever clever fingers deliver another wonderful performance, and the arrangement is sheer class. Business as usual for you, lovely Trish. Love it.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Trish,

Also one of my favorite S&G songs however, I have to say, I love your version even more! The luscious instrumentation adds a mystical, medieval and slightly Celtic character to it which I absolutely adore. I don't miss the vocals at all.

This will be in my head all day!

Thanks for sharing this beauty.

Cheers,

Stu

Hello my friend!

Well well... ;-)
New arrangement...very soft! And somehow you played melodies I already had in mind for the voice version of the song! How could this be? Did you read my thoughts? ;-)

Nevertheless, wonderful song! And the additional instruments are great!
Awesome! Very very very well done!

All the best
