RE: [Solved] Soundforge Pro 18 automatically changing the sound of my files
@Dave_W Don't edit MP3 files. Always convert them to WAV first or enable in the Sound Forge program preferences to proxy compressed file formats. MP3 is used as an end consumer format for playback. My guess is, that editing MP3 files in modern

RE: Vinyl record and restore
@Greg-Gordon Looks good so far. Stereo audio with 16 Bit, 44.1 kHz. In which directory are you trying to save your MP3? What are your MP3 settings? Can you show us also a screenshot of your export dialog?

RE: Can't register SF-7b even with the key
The other issue involving no more MP3 activity on one PC is something else. Try copy/paste the 'mp3plug2' folder files (in 'FileIO Plug-Ins') from one PC to the other.

Yes, I rendered from Reaper. And it was the first time I was rendering with live effects on the tracks. So here's the full audio journey: 1) recorded voice artist using Reaper; exported as 44 kHz, 16 bit, mono WAV (have been doing this for maybe 15

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Actually, correction. I used SF18 to edit the WAVs, but with the new batch converter being terrible, I used SF14's Batch Converter to create the MP3s. Looking into it, this means I used the LAME encoder. Interestingly, I was getting the same results

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Hi Rick, Just thought I'd pop back here with a few updates: 1) firstly, the last batch of audiobook files I sent the client were fine (phew), but I'm not sure why. I batched them with SF13 or SF14 Batch Converter 2) I bought and installed a new

OK, so here's what I've done: 1) in SF18, enabled Legacy MP3 encoder 2) opened a pristine 192 kbps audiobook file that was edited a year ago by someone else 3) selected 1 minute of audio, played it through — no errors 4) ran Trim/Crop just to cut

does anyone know if conversion from 44 kHz, 16 bit, mono WAV to 192 kbps MP3 should cause a problem? Hi @Paul-Fegan, what version of SF are you using? The later versions of Sound Forge has a (hidden) option to use the legacy MP3 encoder or the

I really do not know. Have you tried enabling the legacy MP3 encoder and trying that? Replacing the "mp3plug2.dll" file in the 'FileIO Plug-Ins' folder may fix the issue, I tried the <.dll> MP3 file from SFP-15 which worked, but I'm not sure
