@bzan Export as WAV and use another tool, for example the free XMedia Recode. Years ago you had to pay license fees to use the Fraunhofer MP3 encoder, so for each activation Sony had to pay a fee. This is the way these old softwares had to be

@Apollo89x @johnebaker @AAProds It has stopped saying this about using mp3 files on the MMS specification page but still says the following on the VPX specification page. ² Requires Windows Media Player Version 10 or higher.    Ray.

I think you are missing the point of my post. After editing a podcast on AS17, I was unable to simply export it into a MP3, which is one of the most commonly used formats for distributing audio and also required by my podcast hosting service. I

@bzan If you remember your old Sony customer account e-mail address and password, you should be able to login at Magix.com and download an installer from your Magix customer account. I believe Magix updated those to be able to contact the Magix

RE: Can't save sound recordings from vinyl rsestoration tool as mp3
I am using a folder in user/documents. Not a temp file. I am not doing any editing on the file (may nornalize). I can see why you save as a wave file. I used the reset all preferences and clear cache. Recorded again, same thing. If I go to the file

Yes, I mean if you have more than 2 channels. If there are only 2 channels it works fine, but if there are more than 2 channels, you have to use another program to make the MP3.

RE: I need an upgrade code to music cleaning lab 3.0 deLuxe to be able to
@Anders-Lundquist The company behind the encoder (I think it was Fraunhofer) no longer supports it. So there is no way to get a code. Best workaround is to use plain WAV files and convert them in another application to MP3, for example the free

Hi @Roger-Dey and welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community If you are working with MP3 or other lossy file types, try enabling "Always proxy compressed formats" in the 'Options> Preferences> General' menu.

@browj2 Hi John . . . . Move the playback marker to where you want the next split . . . . Can you clarify this please. My interpretation would be to drag the playback marker, which in VSCL creates a range as I showed in my example here at the 48 sec

@EOHAudioEditor Are you editing compressed audio files like MP3? Better activate to always proxy compressed audio files in the preferences.

    RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Thanks, SP and I hear you. But my worry here is that if I edit it a WAV and need to save it to a 192 kbps MP3, that SF18 is doing something screwy with it that isn't happening in (for instance) SF14. It was displaying other really strange behaviour,

@Connie-Alexander Usually, MP3 is also a paid feature. At least it was in the versions prior to version 2025. So it might be also missing in the trial version.

RE: MP3 files skipping / glitching when opened ...
Audio skipping and repeating. This problem has been happening on the past few versions of SF Pro. I'm currently working with Audio Studio 17 (17.0.2 Build 109), but it was the case with SF Pro 16 (16.1.4 Build 71). I have a RME Fireface UFX II.

    RE: MP3 conversion glitches
@Paul-Fegan In our experience it's not a good idea to edit MP3 files. They are already lossy compressed, this means they are missing data compared to the original WAV files, and they are read out in frames of data instead of individual samples,
