Magix support has not responded to support tickets for months

I too am having the same problem. Just auto letters requesting more information!

Mine is a Sales problem in that I have been overcharged. Does anyone know how long it will be before the support issues are sorted?

I appreciate that there are teething problems but we seem to have gone from really good support to vitually non!

Really disappointed at the moment.

John, clearly you have never had a web site hosted by a company. I suggest you do then you will learn what rubbish you are saying!

Despite being warned previously about the tone of your replies in this thread you have continued to use unacceptable language, as in the above statement that a very experienced computer user and moderator is saying...rubbish. I would again advise that you read the Community rules very carefully!

Because of your behaviour you are now banned from the forums, with immediate effect.

Hi All

I received some communication from Magix this morning and the I.T department have been made aware of said support issues and tickets closing prematurely and are looking into it.

Magix currently have approximately 2,000 open tickets. Their team is currently working on tickets from the end of January 2026 onwards.

That's all the information I have at the moment.

Just a follow-up on the comments from the now banished user about Magix On-line World and Xara On-line and to clear up any misconceptions about the statements:

As of 2025, OVHcloud has taken over as the hosting provider for Magix and Xara Online Services, replacing their legacy, in-house hosting, which was permanently shut down on July 31, 2025. Users are migrating to OVHcloud to maintain their website hosting and publication services.

Action Required: Users with existing Magix or Xara hosting are required to transition to the new OVHcloud partnership.

Service Shift: The old Xara/Magix Online World service is no longer supported.

in particular about users being required to transition to OVH, that is false information. I had subscriptions to Magix Online World and Xara Online, both hosted by Magix. No one was required to transition to OVH; that was a suggestion by Xara, not a requirement. I have the emails from both Magix and Xara advising that they would be discontinuing these hosting services, along with information about how to transfer domains to another host. Both mentioned alternative hosts. Xara sent emails promoting OVH as a potential new host and with OVH offering a discount for Xara users. I went with OVH.

This has nothing to do with the Magix website itself. As has been mentioned, Magix hosts itself. A simple search and a check with something like Hosting Checker would have shown this: "Hosted by: Magix-X via Interoute" a telecommunications company.

@PATIENT-X @emmrecs @johnebaker

Stephen, the pessimist in me would say that your communication with Magix came from AI. In any event, it does not bode well that you gentlemen, the moderators, have not been able to contact someone at Magix. Except for the message from Tom_Sp, there has been radio-silence from Magix, even on the Vegas site, for quite some time.

For bugs that have been mentioned, like the Travel Maps-OpenStreetMap problem, it has been at least a month since the problem was raised in a few languages and reported to Magix. Nothing has been done and we don't really know if a human knows about this. Fixing this is not rocket science and should not take more than a couple of days, including packaging a patch for just Travel Maps itself, as has been done in the past. I fear that there is no one left at Magix to fix bugs or develop software.

In VPX, VDL, and PhotoStory, under Feedback, there is nothing like what we had before with proposed development and improvements, etc. Now, we only have "What's new" and the latest installed version. I think that we are at the end of Magix product development and that the new owner, another investment company, is there to milk whatever can be milked with minimal effort. This means reducing costs to maximize "profits," which means reducing staff by using automation, AI, which is why we don't get any HI, human intelligence, anymore. AI is not going to innovate or generate anything new or fix sales problems with users.

The new owner has no expertise in the field of video and audio editing products, has no vision for the future of the products, and, so far as we know, has not hired someone who does. We are doomed.

In Outlook, when I click on New or Reply to an email, in the body, I see "Press Alt+i to draft with Copilot."

I have a friend with a business who has his email set up using ChatGPT that uses his company information and previous correspondence to automatically create replies. Before sending, he does a quick check of the reply and more often than not, he changes nothing. Send. At least there is some human interaction.

Thanks for the information, it does get quite scary when a.i is involved in every day matters.

There is no doubt that in some cases a.i will be beneficial in the very near future.

But in this instance a.i is more of a hinderence at Magix in support.

Further to my previous posts to add insult to injury I have been offered an upgrade to Music Maker Ultimate 2026 for £39.99 less than a week from upgrading to Premium (my query was Premium was offered at £22.99 but I paid £39.99). What is going on? Am I entitled to the Ultimate version or what????

SP. wrote on 2/17/2026, 1:35 PM

@PATIENT-X Thank you very much for the information about the amount of tickets that still need to be answered. At least we now know a little bit about what is going on.

SP. wrote on 2/17/2026, 1:37 PM

@pjleese The program in the Ultimate Edition is still the Premium version, in case this is your question. There is no separate Ultimate program version. But the Ultimate Edition comes with additional content. So please check your order confirmation e-mail for details.

pjleese wrote on 2/17/2026, 2:50 PM

Thanks SP..My invoice refers to Premium so jot sure if I will b entitled to the additional content of loops instruments etc. I'll check it out.

I need answers to specific questions from our IT Security Team related to our desire to upgrade to Vegas Pro 23. One of my employees has been working on this for months. She was assigned this ticket number ****, but MAGIX closed the ticket without contacting her or answering her questions.

We've received the same bot response referenced by many here. Hopefully, I can get some answers by posting our questions here.

The ten questions below are from our IT Security Team. Any help is appreciated. If I don't get the answers, I'll move my team to Adobe Premier Pro (who quickly and satisfactorily responded to these questions).

  1. Where is data processed (local vs. cloud)?
  2. What data is transmitted off the workstation/computer?
  3. How long is any of the data transmitted off the workstation/computer retained by VEGAS Creative Software?
  4. Is Nebraska Medicine data used for your AI model training or reuse of customer content?
  5. What is the fate of data processed by the AI features?
  6. How is data encrypted?
  7. What access controls exist for data transferred to VEGAS Creative Software?
  8. What customer opt‑outs exist?
  9. Who owns uploaded video, audio, or text?
  10. Does VEGAS Creative Software acquire any rights to customer content?

Where exactly should I post my inquiry?

As you were told - on the Vegas forum. Again, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on VEGAS Forum.

I do have a couple of comments about your questions as this could pertain to other Magix software, like Video Pro X. Does your IT team have any idea about how the software works? Have they read the EULA? Have they looked in the manual? Did they look at how Magix/Vegas/VPX and others provide the STT/TTS and translations - using Microsoft Azure (maybe press on About in the program) and then review how Microsoft uses uploaded data for these? Have they tried running the program off-line to see what needs an internet connection? It appears not or some of the questions would not be asked.

They are aware that Vegas Pro is a NLE that my team uses in the production of education/training videos. Although we have addressed many of their questions already, they are not involved in video production and do not and will not use this software, I will pass your specific questions on to them for their response.

Anyone got any hints for how I can get support? proDAD were practically seething when I contacted them for help with their plugin (NewBlue have not brought my cry for help to a human's attention yet).

John CB

In full transparency, this is the most response my team has received to our inquiries. That said, I posed your questions to our IT Team colleague and his responses are as follows:

Does your IT team have any idea about how the software works? Frank's team has informed us of what it is and howe they use it.

Have they read the EULA? - The EULA on their website (Professional) doesn't talk about AI or data protection other than referencing a privacy policy that was reviewed.

Have they looked in the manual? - Where is the manual published online?

Did they look at how Magix/Vegas/VPX and others provide the STT/TTS and translations - using Microsoft Azure (maybe press on About in the program) and then review how Microsoft uses uploaded data for these? - We don't have the VegasPro23 program as these questions are part of due diligence before purchase. The focus is how Vegas provides STT/TTS not how others provide these services.

Have they tried running the program off-line to see what needs an internet connection? We don't have the VegasPro23 program as this is part of due diligence before purchase.
