I'm afraid the news for you is not good! Please read this pinned post and you will see that there is no version of SF Mac which will run on any recent version of OSX.

I think the last version of the app was version 3, but to upgrade to that version, assuming it is still available, is not going to help you at all because it also will not run on Big Sur.

In addition to @emmrecs comment - if the MAC has an Intel processor then an alternative is to use Bootcamp and make the MAC dual booting, install Windows on the new partition and then install the Windows version of Sound Forge.

Using a Virtual machine software, eg Parallels, is not guaranteed to work as the program will not have direct access to hardware.
