[Solved] How? Auditioning effects in Realtime - before and during recording?

I am using Samplitude Pro X4 and am finding it very frustrating to audition plugin effects before I press the record button. The plugins load fine and pop up to view. But no audio ever seems to pass through them until after I have recorded.
