    RE: MP3 conversion glitches
does anyone know if conversion from 44 kHz, 16 bit, mono WAV to 192 kbps MP3 should cause a problem? Hi @Paul-Fegan, what version of SF are you using? The later versions of Sound Forge has a (hidden) option to use the legacy MP3 encoder or the

[Solved] Playback Stutter MEP 2016 Plus
Forgive me old MEP friends. Everyone gets old ... that's inevitable ... Got another question for which I should know the answer. Was rocking along with a two minute project (with multiple files on the timeline). 'Visual Playback' was smooth at first

fixed the crashing problem and changing Options> Preferences> Internal> ("Activate legacy MP3 plug-in" (Change FALSE to TRUE) seems to have fixed the issue of saving as/to mp3 files. We'll see how it goes and I'll report back.

    RE: MP3 conversion glitches
I really do not know. Have you tried enabling the legacy MP3 encoder and trying that? Replacing the "mp3plug2.dll" file in the 'FileIO Plug-Ins' folder may fix the issue, I tried the <.dll> MP3 file from SFP-15 which worked, but I'm not sure

    RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Hi Paul, I created a 45 minute, 44.1kHz, 16 bit, 400Hz mono PCM wave test tone file and encoded 192 kps, 44.1k, CBR mono MP3s from that. I encoded directly from the timeline and a second set from the batch converter. I used SFP-18's default MP3

RE: Found a bug in Music Maker with reversing audio
@dpizza Reversing a WAV loop or some a compressed file format, like MP3 or OGG? I usually have no problems with WAV. In case you use MP3 maybe it would make sense to convert them to WAV first. For this I use a free tool like Xmedia Recode.

@Apollo89x Yes, we need that MediaInfo readout. I have had very occasional issues with MP3s in the past and they needed recoding in something like Audacity. Can you host one of the problem MP3s on Google Drive or similar for us?

    RE: [Solved] Glitches
@scott-james This can be caused by editing compressed audio files like MP3. It's recommended to convert them to WAV first. If you enable to always proxy compressed audio files in the Sound Forge program preferences, this will be done

    RE: SF 17
Yes, a single-channel mono MP3 will have about twice the resolution of a stereo MP3 encoded at the same bitrate with roughly the same file size. For instance, a 64kps mono MP3 file will have the resolution of 128kps at the 64kps file size.Which is

@Paul-Fegan If you open the Sound Forge program preferences while holding the SHIFT key, there will be an additional Internal tab available. There you should be able to activate the legacy MP3 encoder. This one might work better.
