Message: Could not find a part of the program. Please install the program again. I did a new install and rebooted the PC. I still get this same message. The program has been working fine up until today.
. . . . Could not find a part of the program. Please install the program again . . . .
This suggests to me you are referring to Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio, is this correct?
If so you are in the wrong forum, the Vegas product forum link is at the bottom of this page.
If you are using Video deluxe, formerly called Magix Movie Studio for versions 18 and later, and Movie Edit Pro before that, or Magix Video Pro X
. . . . The program has been working fine up until today . . . .
What changed on the PC between working and not working, eg Windows update, a GPU driver update?
We also need more information to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:
The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.
I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
Movie Studio 2025 Platinum has been working perfectly.
There were no computer changes other than Windows update 2025 12 on Dec 11, 2025. Movie Studio was running OK after that date. It was running OK the day before this message:
"Could not find a part of the program. Please install the program again"
I have reinstalled the program twice. The second time I uninstalled, downloaded from Magix and installed the program.
I suspect the issue is may not be with Magix Movie Studio (MMS).
Are you logging into Windows using a Microsoft Account and is OneDrive active and syncing to the cloud?
Try/check the following:
Right click the program shortcut and select 'Run as administrator', if that works then there is a permissions issue, either the installed Antivirus program is blocking MMS, or your logon account if not using a Microsoft account.
Have the drivers for the RX5500 XT been updated through Windows Update between working and not working? If so roll them back to the previous version.
. . . . One Drive is working and syncing properly . . . .
This is known to cause issues with video editors and other software which creates and uses temporary files during editing. When you setup Windows 11 25H2 this is the default set by Microsoft, to use a Microsoft account to logon with.
The media files and temp files, used in your projects, must be available locally, ie on your PC's hard/ssd drive, however OneDrive syncs these up to the OneDrive cloud storage, approximately every 10 mins.
Ensure you have a backup copy of your files and folders on you computer in a folder that is not inside the OneDrive folder or on your Desktop, or saved to external hard drive, then either:-
Stop/disable the syncing of the Magix folder and all its sub folders, this should be in the OneDrive/Documents folder if you used the the default installations setting for VDL/MMS. If not check the file path to the folder in the program settings Folders tab for projects, temp files etc.
OR
Disable OneDrive completely if you do not need it, most people do no not, unless using OneDrive to sync files across different devices.
I have exited OneDrive and the problem still remain. OneDrive was running before this problem occurred. I didn't see any evidence on Movie Studio using OneDrive for temporary folders.
