I'd guess that not even 15% of the You Tube videos are worthwhile and I concur with your assessment on the information contained in your beginning tutorials. That is where after the edits have been made (choosing which camera) you can set one of the original tracks to be the master audio track (I recommend the track that starts the multi-cam track itself). This will replace the audio in edited track with the original - thus no breaks.

Good stuff!  The sound editor used in the video is called Audacity.  Actually, Music Maker can also convert a stereo file to mono itself.  To convert a stereo file to mono, drag the file to an empty track in the "arranger" area, "solo" only that track, select file/export/audio as wave (or press Alt+W), select the "mono" option and save the file.  Alternatively, Music Maker also has a built-in
