RE: MP3 conversion glitches
I really do not know. Have you tried enabling the legacy MP3 encoder and trying that? Replacing the "mp3plug2.dll" file in the 'FileIO Plug-Ins' folder may fix the issue, I tried the <.dll> MP3 file from SFP-15 which worked, but I'm not sure

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Hi Paul, I created a 45 minute, 44.1kHz, 16 bit, 400Hz mono PCM wave test tone file and encoded 192 kps, 44.1k, CBR mono MP3s from that. I encoded directly from the timeline and a second set from the batch converter. I used SFP-18's default MP3

RE: [Solved] Glitches
@scott-james This can be caused by editing compressed audio files like MP3. It's recommended to convert them to WAV first. If you enable to always proxy compressed audio files in the Sound Forge program preferences, this will be done

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
If the same behavior occurred using SF-14, I don't think using the legacy MP3 encoder in SF-18 will help..Where the master PCM (wav) file(s) rendered in Reaper.. then opened in Sound Forge for encoding?Did you state the same issue occurred using a

Does this occer with PCM wav files as well as MP3? SP: There is no Audio Studio version of SF-18 I have Soundforge pro X64 and it plays .wav files slow and fuzzy also. This just started occurring and it is frustrating

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
@Paul-Fegan If you open the Sound Forge program preferences while holding the SHIFT key, there will be an additional Internal tab available. There you should be able to activate the legacy MP3 encoder. This one might work better.

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
The lengths vary, Rick. They could be as little as a few seconds (opening credits) to just over an hour (a long chapter). I exported the recorded audio as WAV from REAPER (been doing that for years and nothing's changed on that end) and then edited

@MatthewEverett-Gates Hi . . . . problem starts (indeed dense video effects and 4 layers + audio) . . . . Do you get a short chirp of 'clicks' or, for want of a better description, a quick 'brr' . What is the sample rate for the audio portions of

RE: MP3 files skipping / glitching when opened ...
This is curious. I don't think I had done anything beyond what I had previously described. But when I checked a WAV file, it played OK. Then I went into MP3 and again checked "Always proxy compressed formats," and then it played OK. I'll watch this

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Hi again Paul, which MP3 encoder are you using in SFP-18? The 'new' default encoder or the legacy encoder which must be enabled in the (hidden) 'internal' menu to access it.I will try encoding @192kps/44.1k with both the SFP-18 encoders to check for

RE: Why in Sound Forge Pro 18 is there two version of Channel Converter?
I have no idea, You can contact support but there probably is no logical reason.FYI,, there are also two MP3 encoders. The dumbed-down default encoder is a little faster but the legacy encoder has more settings. The legacy encoder can be enabled in

RE: Unable to import MKV files into Video deluxe 2026 Plus, Windows 10
@Gra_Ham Hi The problem with the MKV file is the video/audio codecs combination, ie MPEG-4 and MP3 respectively, these are not a supported combination. Try running the MKV file through a video converter such as Handbrake converting to MP4 h.264,

[Solved] Soundforge Pro 18 automatically changing the sound of my files

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
Please do, Rick. It'd be very useful to know if the WAVs are somehow inherently flawed and causing the glitches during the MP3 encoding process. Then I'll have to wonder at what stage the flaws occurred: during initial clean up in SF18, or later

RE: Kodak C330 audio
@nicolesharp100 Of note is that Video Deluxe won't export MP4 ie H264 below 24fps; I don't know if VPX does. VPX will add duplicate frames as necessary to "fill up" the frame rate to 24 (or whatever you set) for export. Best to set the desired

Thanks, Rick. Yes, unfortunately, we can definitely eliminate the audio interface as the cause. Good point. @SP. mentioned the legacy encoder earlier in this thread, but I hadn't tried it yet as I was getting errors in other applications, too. Or so

Thanks, J-Koch. I did upgrade in the end and despite a problem with MP3s, it's been fine. I checked out the voices and they weren't great. To be honest, I record voice actors for a living so am not a fan of AI, but one or two clients were going this

RE: MP3 conversion glitches
@SP. and @rraud it's possible you guys were correct from the very start: maybe it IS this setting about editing MP3s in a non-compressed proxy file. I've tried this in SF18 and I can't replicate the issue so far. However, what confuses me is that
